Where to Buy Land: Uasin Gishu Developing Plans For 6 Fast-Growing Trading Centers

The County Government of Uasin Gishu Uasin Gishu is finalizing the development of physical plans for several fast-growing trading centers within the county.

Together with expert input from the National Land Commission and The State Department of Physical Planning, the county through the Department of Lands, Housing, Physical Planning, and Urban development have been able to come up with Physical Plans for several centers among them Kipsigak, Garage, Tuiyo, Kaplolo, Ngeria and Kipsangui.

Chief Officer for Physical Planning and Urban Development Kenneth Mbeka while chairing a presentation session for the plans noted that the process included the Urban Development identification of the main planning issues in the centers, providing its spatial framework to act as a basis for developing standards and regulations.

"A key factor in the process of coming up with these Physical Plans was the incorporation of environmental concerns for sustainable development and provision a framework for the coordination of stakeholders participation, input from them and implementation of the plans on the ground," said Mbeka.

NLC Uasin Gishu County Coordinator Andrew Rotich together with the Assistant Director North Rift Coordinator SDPP Veronica Ndunge appreciated the County's efforts in coming up with such projects which they termed as transformative.

"These trading centers are in strategic locations that will transform the County's economy. Key concerns in the plans are road networks, boundaries, and existing developments. The plan proposals have been designed with the aim of promoting order and harmony among the existing and proposed land uses," noted Rotich.

Director Physical Planning Daniel Koech on his part noted that the plan proposals are accompanied by development guidelines, sector improvement strategies and an implementation strategy that aims at achieving sustainable development in Uasin Gishu County.

The County Government of Uasin Gishu is already working on enhancing infrastructure in three other urban centers as they prepare them to be elevated into township status.

How Women Can Protect Their Property Rights After Marriage

They say property has no gender, but history shows a different reality, where property ownership has favoured men. This inequality is still evident, especially when it comes to inheritance after the death of a spouse.  Even though Kenya’s 2010 Constitution guarantees equal rights for men and women, many women still struggle to secure their rights to property. So, how can women make sure their rights are respected after marriage? Baoriat Agencies explains six key ways to ensure fair property distribution in case of death or separation. 1. Registering Jointly Owned Property  When a couple buys property together, it’s important to register it under both names. This guarantees that the other automatically inherits the property if one partner dies. Make sure both names are clearly listed on the title deed as co-owners. 2. Joint Tenancy or Tenancy-in-Common There are two ways to share property: Joint tenancy : If one partner dies, the other automatically becomes the sole owner. Tena...
