Uasin Gishu County is located at the mid-west of Kenya Rift valley. It lies between Longitudes 340 50‟ East and 350 37‟ West and Latitudes 00 03‟ South and 00 55‟ North. The County’s code is 027 and it is under the governance of Governor Jackson Mandago.  

The county is newly divided into sub-county and wards with current formation of IEBC (Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission). It has a total of six sub-county namely Turbo consisting of six wards, Kesses with a total of four wards, Moiben comprising of five wards, Kapseret is made up of five wards, Ainabkoi and Soy with a total of seven wards each. Every Sub County has an administrative office in charge of it from the county Government. Wards administrators are in charge of wards and Sub County administrators are in charge of the Sub Counties. Below is the list of the six sub counties with their wards;

       i.            Moiben Sub County is made up of five wards namely; Kimumu, Moiben, Tembelio, Sergoit and Karuna.

     ii.            Kesses Sub County on the other hand comprises of; Tarakwa, Racecourse, Cheptiret/Kipchamo, Tulwet/Chuiyat wards.

 

  iii.          Turbo Sub County consists of Huruma, Kamagut, Kapsaos, Kiplombe, Ngenyilel and Tapsagoi wards.

 

  iv.            Kapseret Sub County has Megun, Langas, Kipkenyo, Ngeria, Simat/Kapseret wards.

     v.            Ainabkoi Sub County comprises of; Kaptagat, Kapsoya and Olare/Ainabkoi wards

  vi.            Soy Sub County consists; Ziwa, Soy, Kipsomba, Mois Bridge, Kapkures, Segero/ Barsombe and Kunet/Kapsuswa wards.

 

In summary, Uasin Gishu County has a total thirty wards and each ward has ward administrators incharge of them.
