The Uasin Gishu County Department of Lands, Housing, Physical Planning, and Urban Development is working with the Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP) to address land tenure in the Maili Nne settlement.
Director Lands and Housing Ms. Nelly Jerotich, while accompanying the KISIP team on fast-tracking and final follow-up on verification of lists in Maili Nne, emphasized the need to ensure that all those that own parcels of lands are genuine as the titles are set to be issued soon.

"We want to appreciate KISIP for the projects they are undertaking in the County. We are here to also assure the residents of this settlement that due processes will be followed in title allocation; this is why we have the area chief, elders, and the surveyor on-site," noted Ms. Jerotich.
The county and KISIP have been working on the issuance of the title deeds for about two years now, since the launch of the project early in 2022.
A similar project is also ongoing for the landowners around Hill School.
