The estate located just about 20 minutes drive from Eldoret town, will soon be hosting the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) – Eldoret Campus.

Already, a 7-acre piece of land has been donated for the KIMC management by the County Government of Uasin Gishu, and constructions works are expected to start as soon as 2022/2023 Financial Year starts.

A report by an online news outlet Uasin Gishu News indicates that the national government has already allocated Ksh1 billion for the project.


The website quoted KIMC Director Hiram Muchete saying Ksh40 million has been released to facilitate fencing of the land.

“We are committed to seeing the campus grow into a fully-fledged media training institution. Already, the government has committed Ksh1.05 billion for the setting up of the campus, and allocated Ksh40 million for the fencing of the land donated by the county,” said Mucheke, as quoted by Uasin Gishu News.

“The government has allocated a further Ksh100 million for the construction of tuition block among other key infrastructures in 2022,” he added.

The KIMC Eldoret Campus, the first one outside Nairobi’s main campus, is already functional, and currently, it operates from Home Craft – Pioneer estate, a facility owned by the County of Uasin Gishu.
