Ksh173 Million Project Set To Open Up Bahati Estate – Where To Buy Land in Eldoret

Bahati estate, located between Munyaka and Ngomongo on the outskirts of Eldoret town is set to be opened up for further development in real estate and business following the unveiling of a state-of-the-art fresh produce market.

The Ksh173 million market was officially opened on Friday, December 4, 2021, by Devolution Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter and European Union (EU) Deputy Ambassador to Kenya in an event hosted by Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago.

With the market – Kimumu/Bahati Fresh Produce Market now operational, Bahati estate is soon expected to start witnessing its positive impact that will likely include construction of new residential buildings, business buildings among others to accommodate a rise in demand.

Speaking during the event, Governor Mandago revealed that the market is not yet fully complete and that they will be seeking more funding to facilitate two more phases.

Currently, Kimumu/Bahati Fresh Produce Market is installed with cold rooms that enable it to provide storage facilities for fresh produce from not only Uasin Gishu but also neighboring counties.

It has the capacity to accommodate up to 2,000 traders.

Mandago hinted that when seeking funding to expand the market, they will also include tarmacking of key roads leading to the market – which will have a direct impact on the value of land and property within the estate.

“We want to expand this market and I will ensure before I leave office we give a proposal and I have asked Roads and Infrastructure County Executive when making proposals, he considers adding tarmacking of roads as part of it. We will work on that because we want to expand the economy,” noted the governor.

Key roads in the estate have already been graveled, with the market breathing a new life within the estate.

How Women Can Protect Their Property Rights After Marriage

They say property has no gender, but history shows a different reality, where property ownership has favoured men. This inequality is still evident, especially when it comes to inheritance after the death of a spouse.  Even though Kenya’s 2010 Constitution guarantees equal rights for men and women, many women still struggle to secure their rights to property. So, how can women make sure their rights are respected after marriage? Baoriat Agencies explains six key ways to ensure fair property distribution in case of death or separation. 1.
