Where to Buy Land: Graveling, Grading of Two Major Roads in Turbo Set to Begin

When looking for a place to buy land, one of the factors you will be keeping into consideration is its accessibility – which is largely determined by the kind of roads in the area – and its proximity from the tarmac road.

If you’re looking to buy land in any part of Turbo Sub County in Uasin Gishu, there are two potential areas you can consider.

The County Government of Uasin Gishu is currently funding the improvement of two major roads in the area.

A team from the Department of Roads and Infrastructure recently handed over Jerusalem-Chebarus road to a contractor for grading and graveling.

Later, the team moved to Kapsaos Ward where they handed over the Kabyemit-Kabkeben road project to a contractor for the installation of new culverts, grading and graveling works.

According to Director Roads Eng. Benjamin Kirongo, the contractors are expected to speed up the construction work on the respective site projects and ensure they deliver quality work on time.

Eng Kirongo says all the specifications as per the agreement in the tender documents must be followed to the latter.

Most of the roads earmarked for improvement in the two wards are crucial for accessibility of the residents to other projects being implemented by the county like public schools, hospitals, cattle dips, and local administrative offices.

Kiplombe MCA Ramadan Ali and his counterpart from Kapsaos ward Hosea Lamai assured the contractors and the engineers of their full support during the implementation of the projects funded by the County Government.

They also appealed to the contractors to focus on the areas of the roads that have been destroyed by floods and running water.

The contractors for both projects committed to starting the work starting Monday next week.

How Women Can Protect Their Property Rights After Marriage

They say property has no gender, but history shows a different reality, where property ownership has favoured men. This inequality is still evident, especially when it comes to inheritance after the death of a spouse.  Even though Kenya’s 2010 Constitution guarantees equal rights for men and women, many women still struggle to secure their rights to property. So, how can women make sure their rights are respected after marriage? Baoriat Agencies explains six key ways to ensure fair property distribution in case of death or separation. 1. Registering Jointly Owned Property  When a couple buys property together, it’s important to register it under both names. This guarantees that the other automatically inherits the property if one partner dies. Make sure both names are clearly listed on the title deed as co-owners. 2. Joint Tenancy or Tenancy-in-Common There are two ways to share property: Joint tenancy : If one partner dies, the other automatically becomes the sole owner. Tena...
