County Rolls Up Initiative to Monitor Construction of New Buildings in Eldoret

The Department of Lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development in Uasin Gishu has affirmed its commitment to ensuring thorough efficacy of development control as a tool for monitoring the residential building development process within the county.

And as one of the bids to promote quality assurance within the building construction industry, the department has rolled out an initiative that will see its officials undertake a weekly Rapid Results Initiative (RRI).

The RRI is aimed at ensuring a follow up of all ongoing constructions so that they comply with the approved plans by the department.

According to the Director of Physical Planning Daniel Koech, legally, building and construction works explicitly requires all developments to be monitored to ensure conformity with approved building plans and compliance with recommended planning standards.
