Major Urban Areas in Uasin Gishu (Apart from Eldoret) – Where to Buy Land

 

Uasin Gishu is one of the 47 counties in Kenya located in the former Rift Valley Province with Eldoret town as its capital.

The county number 27 is located on a plateau and has a cool and temperate climate.

Uasin Gishu is known as Kenya’s food basket due to Agriculture being a major economic activity amongst its locals that mainly plant maize, wheat as well as practice dairy farming among others.

Apart from Eldoret town which is the largest population centre in the county which also serves as an administrative and commercial centre, there are several other urban centres in Uasin Gishy where you can invest in – by buying land, either for commercial use or for agricultural purposes.

Cheramei

Cheramei is one of the three urban areas that the county government of Uasin Gishu is pushing to be given a township status, alongside Moi’s Bridge and Burnt Forest.

Jua Kali

Just like Burnt Forest, Jua Kali has also benefited, in terms of development, from long-distance truck drivers who make stop overs and this trading center.

Kesses

Located in Kesses Sub County, Kesses trading center benefits from a high number of students at the nearby Moi University that have helped it become an active and vibrant area, good for business investment.

Ngeria

Ngeria is a trading centre located along the Eldoret-Nakuru highway and is likely to benefit from the ongoing construction works for the soon-to-be-completed Eldoret bypass that starts.

This is a prime urban centre in Uasin Gishu currently, aside from Eldoret town. It is strategically located near the Eldoret international airport and is also along the Eldoret bypass being constructed.
