PHOTOS: 7 Amazing Places around Eldoret Town You Should Visit During This Festive Season

The festive season is here with us again and despite the economic challenges that has been occasioned by Covid-19 pandemic, as a tradition, people will somehow get some cash to enjoy themselves with their families.

In case you are in Uasin Gishu County during this festive season, here are some of the amazing places you should consider visiting – either alone, with your family or loved ones;

Poa Place

This is a notable resort in Eldoret town that features a wide variety of accommodation, food and amusements.

Poa Place, located off Eldoret-Nakuru highway along Kaptagat road, is a good place to visit as a family – it has a children’s playing ground, swimming pool as well as Nature Park that has a number of animals like Ostrich, Monkeys, Snakes as well as birds and lions among others.

Koromosho Falls

It is located some 25 kilometers away from Eldoret at a point where the River Sosiani plunges 70 meters from the plateau and over a granite escarpment.

Koromosho Falls was also a site of the ancient practice of Sheu Morobi – where very old members of the Nandi community would jump to their deaths for a variety of reasons including loneliness and so as not to burden the community.

Aside from the falls, this is a good place for team building events, family get-together-meetings as well as rock climbing.

Noble Hotel

Located off Eldoret-Kapsoya Road, Nobel Hotel is a scenic place with well-kept gardens that will offer you an environment to cool off.

The hotel is a 14-minute walk from Moi University School of Dentistry.

Samich Resort

Offering an outdoor pool, barbecue and children's playground, Samich Resort is located in Nyaru – an area popular for cycling and hiking. Bike hire and car hire are available at this resort and you can also play darts at the resort.

For an adventurous festive season, make time to visit this resort.

Chepkiit Falls

Chepkiit is a spectacular place located only about half an hour drive from Eldoret CBD. While at this place, you can have four different views of the Chepkiit Falls.

While at the bridge, you can be able to see water passing under you, then disappearing into the waterfall. Down at the fall, you can see water beautifully falling next to you.

How Women Can Protect Their Property Rights After Marriage

They say property has no gender, but history shows a different reality, where property ownership has favoured men. This inequality is still evident, especially when it comes to inheritance after the death of a spouse.  Even though Kenya’s 2010 Constitution guarantees equal rights for men and women, many women still struggle to secure their rights to property. So, how can women make sure their rights are respected after marriage? Baoriat Agencies explains six key ways to ensure fair property distribution in case of death or separation. 1.
